Class X student stabbed to death at school gate
Sonepat, February 18
A 17-year-old student was stabbed to death at the gate of Government Senior Secondary School in Juan village here yesterday. The police today handed over the body to the kin after the post-mortem examination.
As a preventive measure, a police team has been deployed in the village to avoid any untoward situation. The student has been identified as Akshit, who was studying in Class X at the government school in the village.
Victim’s cousin Sandeep, in his complaint to the police, said Akshit had some altercation with his classmates, who also reside in the same village, over some issues on February 15.
Sandeep further said six to seven youths of the same village, including Akshit’s classmates, cornered the victim when he came out of the school after attending classes and attacked him with a knife and rods.
The suspects managed to flee the spot when other students and staff members gathered at the school gate.
After getting information, family members of Akshit also reached the school and took him to Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College at Khanpur. But, doctors at the hospital declared him dead.
A team of the Mohana police reached the spot and the hospital to investigate the incident. A forensic team also visited the crime spot to collect evidences.
Inspector Arun Kumar, SHO, Mohana police station, said a case under Sections 148, 149 and 302 of the IPC had been registered against five persons. The SHO said of the five suspects, three were said to be victim’s classmates.
As of now, no suspect has been arrested as they are on the run.
The SHO said four police teams, including a CIA team, had been formed to nab the suspects.
According to the police, there were injury marks on the neck, head, chest and stomach of Akshit.
The police said the victim was cremated today and as a precautionary move, police personnel had been deployed in the village.
