Punjabi singer Harbhajan Mann had a narrow escape early morning today when his vehicle overturned after colliding with a stray cow on the Pipli flyover in Kurukshetra. Mann, who was travelling from Delhi to Mohali, was accompanied by his son, a gunman, and a driver.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 4 am when the vehicle struck a cow sitting on the National Highway. The driver attempted to brake suddenly, but the car hit the animal and overturned.
“We got information that a car had met with an accident, and it was found that Harbhajan Mann was travelling in the car. The accident took place on the highway due to a stray cow. No major injuries were reported in the incident,” said SHO Thanesar Sadar, Baljeet Singh.
Passersby and police personnel rushed to the scene and helped the occupants bring out of the vehicle. All four were taken to a private hospital in Kurukshetra for first aid and later left for Mohali, where they received further medical care at a private facility.
The vehicle suffered significant damage, and the AK-47 weapon carried by the gunman was also reportedly damaged in the accident.
“The statement of the singer regarding the incident has been recorded, in which the singer has stated that the incident took place all of a sudden and nobody was at fault, following which he has not sought any action in this matter,” added SHO Baljeet Singh.
Police later removed the stray cow and the damaged vehicle from the highway to clear the road for traffic.
