District Social Welfare Officer Satyawan Dhilod said the department was taking strong steps for the wellbeing of senior citizens.

Through such clubs, they were offering different services and activities to keep the elderly active, he added, stating that these clubs had basic facilities like drinking water and toilets.

He said, on International Senior Citizens Day, sports events for both men and women would be organised.

He said the goal was to help senior citizens live a respectful and active life.

Councillor Suman Sharma, Senior Citizen Club chairperson Kasturi Chhabra, Harbans Narang, Devendra Pahuja and Dr Mohit Kaushal were among those present at the event.
