Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state government would soon provide housing facilities to underprivileged families under the ‘Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana.’ "The Housing for All Department has made all necessary arrangements to ensure eligible families benefit from these schemes," he said during a review meeting of the department held here today.
Various schemes
Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana: 100 sq yd plots for rural eligible families with an annual income below Rs 1.80 lakh
Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana: Housing plots and flats for urban families with similar income criteria
Funding support: Financing options through banks to assist families in availing plots or flats
Property Management System: Digital management of 80,000 property records for transparency and efficiency
As part of the initiative, eligible individuals will receive 100-sq-yd plots in developed colonies equipped with essential urban-like amenities. The allotments will be made in a phased manner. The Chief Minister has approved an allocation of Rs 100 crore to facilitate the programme.
“We aim to ensure that no eligible family is deprived of housing benefits, even if they cannot make a lump sum payment. Financing options through banks will be made available,” said a government spokesperson.
Under the schemes, families with an annual income below Rs 1.80 lakh, who do not own a house, land, or flat, have been identified. Over 5 lakh individuals applied for 100 sq yd plots under the ‘Mukhyamantri Gramin Awas Yojana,’ and these will be allotted in phases. Additionally, 50 sq yd plots will be distributed in Mahagram Panchayats.
In urban areas, the ‘Mukhyamantri Shahri Awas Yojana’ has received 2.89 lakh applications from families meeting similar criteria. Of these, 1.51 lakh applied for plots, while 1.38 lakh sought flats. Last year, provisional allotment letters were issued to 15,256 applicants.
The meeting highlighted the Housing Board Haryana’s development of a Property Management System (PMS) software to manage approximately 80,000 allottees’ data. Previously, records were maintained manually, requiring allottees to visit estate managers’ offices for updates. The PMS portal is now integrated with the Jamabandi portal for seamless property registration and improved accuracy.
“The PMS must also be linked with the Parivar Pehchan Patra to enhance the implementation of future schemes,” directed the Chief Minister.
