Expressing sorrow over the deaths of two young basketball players at Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar and Lakhan Majra in Rohtak, CM Nayab Singh Saini has announced a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each for the families of the deceased.

"The Haryana Government stands with the family members of the deceased youngsters in this period of grief," he said in a statement.

Saini has also ordered an inspection of all sports facilities in the state. Stating that the safety and security of sportspersons was the priority of the government, the CM has directed the Department of Sports to carry out repairs and maintenance of the facilities.
