CM approves contracts worth Rs 108 cr in high-powered meet
An ultra-modern fire station will be established in the Municipal Corporation area of Panipat at a cost of Rs 17.85 crore. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini approved contracts totalling Rs 109.30 crore during the meeting of the High-Powered Works Committee (HPWC) held under his chairmanship today.
Negotiations with various bidders during the meeting resulted in a significant cost saving of Rs 6.92 crore. Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel was also present.
Approval was also given for the installation of new LEDs and the replacement of existing streetlights with energy-efficient LED streetlights, along with a Centralised Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) panel for a smart lighting system in Yamunanagar at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore. Additionally, the implementation of a smart streetlight system within the limits of the Municipal Corporation of Ambala, which includes replacing conventional streetlights and installing new LED luminaires integrated with the CCMS, was approved at a cost of Rs 14.70 crore.
Likewise, the strengthening of the road from Meerut Road to Udham Singh Chowk via Community Centre, Sector-9, and the market area (Meerut Road to Sai Mandir and Chowk, Sai Mandir to Noor Mahal Chowk and Chowk, Noor Mahal Chowk to Udham Singh Chowk, and Udham Singh Chowk to Community Centre) under the Municipal Corporation of Karnal, at a cost of Rs 7.90 crore, was also approved.
The meeting also approved the construction of hostel blocks for the Hockey Stadium at Kailash, Karnal, under the Smart City Mission, at a cost of Rs 13.25 crore. Additionally, the development of two collateral roads — Shani Mandir Road and Sector-28 Main Road — under the Smart City Project in Faridabad, at a cost of Rs 18.10 crore, was approved.
The Chief Minister directed that all works be completed within the prescribed time frame, adding that any delays would hold the contractor concerned and officers accountable. He also emphasised the need to ensure the use of quality materials in construction, making it clear that quality would not be compromised under any circumstances.
