CM considers demands for allocation of funds for advocates’ welfare
Dr Vijender Singh Ahlawat, Chairman, The Bar Council Of Punjab and Haryana, has thanked Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for considering the demand of the Bar Council to make provision for budgetary allocations of funds for the Welfare of Advocates in the Trustee Committee framed under the Advocate's Welfare Fund Act, 2001.
Ahlawat said the CM had made this announcement while speaking at an oath-taking ceremony of 1,145 newly enrolled advocates organised by the Bar Council in Chandigarh on Sunday. The council also created a national record of organising such a mega oath-taking ceremony for newly enrolled advocates in a single day, he claimed.

He said there were 150 Bar Associations in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh at the district, subdivision and tehsil level besides various Tribunals and State Consumers Bar Associations.
"Election of all Bar Associations is scheduled on February 28 for which a schedule has already been issued as per the Bar Association (constitution & registration) Rules,” Ahlawat added.
