While Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar praised the Union Budget for selecting the Rakhigarhi archaeological site for a museum, former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state Congress president Kumari Selja took a dig at it by describing it as an old announcement.

“I thank the government for selecting Rakhigarhi for on-site museum. It will give international recognition to the place. Once the place is developed as a tourist place, it will give income to the state and employment to the villagers,” Khattar said.

Former Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu also thanked PM Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the Rakhigarhi museum.

Hooda said, “Only once did Haryana appear in the Budget speech and that too for a museum at Rakhigarhi. But earlier too, the state government had made announcements for the museum. Now, by mentioning it again, Finance Minister is fooling the people.”

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Kumari Selja said, “The museum at Rakhigarhi is not new. The Congress government in 2013 had decided on it.”
