CM launches projects worth crores for Panipat Urban constituency
BJP district office ‘Shyam Kamal’ also inaugurated
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday announced a slew of development projects worth crores of rupees for the Panipat Urban Assembly constituency.
The CM laid the foundation stone of a Railway Over Bridge (ROB), to be constructed at a cost of Rs 70.42 crore, connecting the old industrial area with GT Road, and a Fire Station Centre worth Rs 18.95 crore.
He also inaugurated the BJP District Office ‘Shyam Kamal’ in Sector 13/17 near the helipad. The event was attended by BJP’s national vice-president Saudaan Singh, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, organising secretary Phanindernath Sharma, MLAs Pramod Vij and Manmohan Bhadana, state general secretary Dr Archna Gupta, mayor Komal Saini, district president Dushyant Bhatt and other leaders.
Responding to demands raised by local MLA Pramod Vij, the CM announced the construction of an auto market (subject to land availability), a night shelter, housing for Municipal Corporation employees, and a slaughterhouse. He also announced Rs 50 lakh for Bhagavad Gita Chowk, Rs 40 crore for reconstruction of Palika Bazaar and installation of CCTV cameras across Panipat city for crime prevention.
Paying tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary, Saini said, “We should all take inspiration from his dedicated life, which he devoted entirely to Antyodaya. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay had said politics should not only be a medium for power but also for social service.”
The CM added that Haryana is the first state in the country where all crops are being procured at MSP.
Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said BJP district offices are being built nationwide to strengthen grassroots organisation. “For the past 11 years, various fortnightly programmes have been organised in the country. This year too, from the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi till October 2, ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ is being observed,” he said, adding that Haryana’s economic condition is now among the best in the country.
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda termed it a matter of pride that the new BJP office had come up in his constituency. “This office is a big gift for ordinary workers, which is equipped with modern facilities. From next Thursday, a ‘Khula Darbar’ will be held here to hear people’s grievances,” he announced.
BJP’s state chief Mohan Lal Badoli asserted that development works in Haryana were moving at “threefold speed”. “There is no shortage of money for development in the state. Under the poverty eradication scheme, work is being done in the spirit of Antyodaya. Employment and development promises are being fulfilled,” he said, adding that PM Narendra Modi’s reforms in GST had given “great relief to the common people.”
