CM lays foundation stone of 51-foot Virat Swaroop at Bhadrakali temple
Haryana Chief Minister (CM) Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday laid the foundation stone of a 51-foot Virat Swaroop symbolising “Maa” dedicated to maternal power at Shaktipeeth Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali Temple in Kurukshetra.
During the event, the CM performed prayers amidst chants of mantras at the temple, seeking peace, prosperity and progress for the people of the state.
Bhadrakali Temple is one of the 52 Shakti Peethas in the country. Every year lakhs of devotees come to Kurukshetra to pay obeisance at the temple.
Saini said the construction of the 51-foot Virat Swaroop symbolising “Maa” in the courtyard of the world-renowned Shaktipeeth Shri Devikoop Bhadrakali would further enhance the temple’s glory. Lakhs of devotees visiting the temple for worship would draw inspiration from the grand site of maternal reverence, he said.
Meanwhile, after performing puja at the Maha Gaurav Sthal, the CM also reviewed model of the Maha Gaurav Sthal project and learned about its details through a documentary film.
Saini said he was fortunate to perform the Bhoomi Pujan for establishing the Virat Swaroop of “Maa” at Bhadrakali Temple, one of the 52 Shakti Peethas of India. He said “Maa” was not only a word, but as an extraordinary blend of affection, inspiration and love. Nothing could ever replace the essence of “Maa”, he said.
The CM said the state government honoured mothers of athletes who brought fame to the country and the state in Gurugram recently.
