CM releases first instalment of Rs 151 cr to 36,000 families under PM Awas Yojana
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today released the first instalment of Rs 151 crore to the accounts of 36,000 eligible families in the state as financial assistance to build their ‘pucca’ houses under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana. As part of the first instalment, Rs 45,000 was transferred to each eligible family for the construction of house.
The amount was released by the Chief Minister during a programme organised during the ongoing budget session in the Vidhan Sabha here today. The Deputy Commissioners in the districts and chief executive officers of Zila Parishad virtually joined the programme.
While congratulating the beneficiaries, Saini said it is the dream of a poor person to have his own house. “Today, through this programme, the construction of 36,000 homes is starting in the state. This day will mark the beginning of a better future for all these families. When people progress, the country and the state progress as well,” he added.
The Chief Minister said the state government has also made a policy to provide housing facility to migrant workers in industrial areas. Residential complexes, including dormitories and single-room accommodations, will be constructed in industrial estates. In addition, 1,600 flats will be built in Sonepat for rental housing.
He urged all officers to carry out awareness drive and ensure the maximum registration of eligible families under the schemes so that the beneficiaries can get their house as soon as possible.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Arun Kumar Gupta, Commissioner and Secretary Housing for All Department Mohammad Shayin, Commissioner and Secretary Development and Panchayats Department Amit Kumar Agrawal, Director General Information Public Relations and Language Department K Makrand Pandurang, Director General Housing for All Department J Ganeshan and other officers were also present.
