Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has said PM Narendra Modi will arrive in the state on October 17 for the Jan Vishwas, Jan Vikas programme, on the completion of one year of the state government’s third term, and present the state with new gifts of development. Interacting with the media, he said the government was working non-stop for people’s welfare.

In previous governments, jobs were obtained through 'kharchi-parchi', but today, jobs were being given on merit, he claimed. During a meeting with officials, Saini took detailed information regarding the arrangements for Modi’s visit, including arrangements and other police-related aspects.

Saini said beneficiaries of various schemes would attend the programme. Accordingly, different sectors had been created at the venue for public seating. Only those beneficiaries for whom a sector had been designated should be seated in that sector, he said. Provision for their drinking water should also be made.
