CM Saini announces provision of Rs 2,100 for women in Budget, Congress cries foul
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has stated that a provision for grant of Rs 2,100 per head to the state’s women would be made in the upcoming Budget of the state, and they would start getting the said amount from the coming year.
"A provision to give Rs 2,100 to the state women will be made in the upcoming budget of the state. They will start getting the said amount from the coming year,” the Chief Minister said while addressing a public gathering in support of BJP’s mayoral candidate Ram Avtar Balmiki at Rohtak on Monday.
The Congress has taken a strong exception to the Chief Minister’s statement, alleging that it amounted to violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
”It is a clear violation of the Model Code of Conduct and we will write to the State Election Commission for appropriate action in this regard,” said Congress MLA from Rohtak Bharat Bhushan Batra.
Meanwhile, in his address, Saini said efforts were being made to fulfil the dream of all poor persons of having their own home, maintaining that all eligible applicants from Haryana would get financial support under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The Chief Minister said the state government is focusing on empowering women entrepreneurs, self-help groups and drone didis.
"Under the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, the state aims to create 5,000 Lakhpati Didis, with over 1,500 women already having achieved this status,” he stated.
He reiterated that the state government would provide jobs to 2 lakh youth on merit in the next five years.
Taking a dig at former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Saini said he had been stating that the BJP regime had failed to perform in the first 100 days of its installation, but he was unaware of the ground realities.
"We have given jobs to 25,000 youth on merit. As many as 13 lakh families having an annual income up to 1.80 lakh are getting LPG cylinders for Rs 500. We have started a free dialysis facility and several other welfare schemes. Still he says we have done nothing,” he stated.
The Chief Minister remarked that the place for former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal was in Tihar jail.
Saini also inaugurated a machining centre and a mammography bus at LPS Bossard plant located at Kharawar in Rohtak district on Monday in presence of former Haryana minister Manish Grover and Managing Director of LPS Bossard Rajesh Jain.
