Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring equitable development across Haryana while addressing a public meeting in Naraingarh today. "The government is ensuring all-round development of the state with the spirit of Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek,” he said, highlighting that Rs 770 crore has been spent on development projects in Naraingarh over the past decade, including road infrastructure, educational institutions, sports facilities, a civil hospital upgrade and power substations.
Expressing concerns about the challenges faced by sugarcane farmers, the CM said, “The government is actively working to resolve the issue. A committee under the Chief Secretary is exploring solutions, including converting the existing mill into a cooperative sugar mill or setting up an alternative cooperative mill. A decision will be implemented soon to ease farmers' difficulties.”
The existing private sugar mill has been under state government supervision since 2019.
The CM announced Rs 10 crore for repairing PWD roads and Rs 5 crore for Marketing Board roads. An additional Rs 5 crore has been allocated for developing villages in the Naraingarh Assembly constituency.
He also committed to reviewing the physical report for the renovation of 'Narayan Talab' and announced the four-laning of the Patarheri to Shahzadpur-Naraingarh road.
In a major push for education and sports, the CM announced the establishment of a Horticulture College affiliated with Maharana Pratap Horticulture University, Karnal. The college will provide research opportunities in horticulture.
Additionally, a Hockey Astro Turf with floodlights will be constructed at the Badagarh Sports Stadium, valued at Rs 14 crore. The CM also allocated Rs 5 crore for renovating sports stadiums in Laha and Bichpadi villages.
The CM inaugurated and laid the foundation for 10 development projects worth Rs 43.28 crore. These include inauguration of a Regional Horticulture Research Centre in Chandsoli, foundation stone laying for a new bus stand and renovation of the workshop.
The other projects included laying drinking water pipelines in new Naraingarh colonies, strengthening the drinking water distribution system.
During the Haryana Kabaddi Khel Mahakumbh, the CM honoured the state’s top kabaddi teams. “Haryana has long been a stronghold for traditional sports such as Kabaddi, wrestling and boxing. Our athletes bring glory to the state and nation through their achievements,” he said.
The women's kabaddi team from Hisar secured first place, while Rohtak came second and Gurugram and Ambala shared third position. In the men's competition, Gurugram won first place, followed by Hisar in second and Rohtak and Ambala jointly in third. The winning teams were awarded trophies and prizes.
Congress MLA Shalley Choudhary and several BJP leaders also addressed the gathering.
