CM squad inspects Patwarkhana in Panipat, 1,585 inteqals found pending
Following a tip-off about the delay in people’s work by patwaris in Panipat, a team of the Chief Minister flying squad, Karnal, carried out a surprise inspection at the Patwarkhana of Tehsil Camp on Wednesday.
The team found that over 1,585 inteqals had been pending for more than 10 days and some non-employed persons were also found working in the Patwarkhana during the inspection. During the inspection, the team found a non-employee, Praveen, alias Monu, working with Patwari Ravi while Sachin was found working with Patwari Salender.
As per sources, some people in the Patwarkhana also told the team that these persons played a key role in setting up money for registering inteqal and wills. Patwaris allegedly kept troubling the common man and took arbitrary time to do the work, due to which the people were forced to make rounds of their offices several times. Sunehra Singh of Vikas Nagar told the CM flying squad team that his inteqal was not registered since April 8, 2024.
The team also found several old registry intequals’ applications pending with the Patwari without any diary number and dates. It was also found that Patwari deposited the revenue fee late in the government treasury. No bio-metric or CCTV cameras were installed in the patwarkhana, the building of the patwarkhana is very old and in a condemnable state.
The Panipat city has a big area that’s why it is needed to revise the circle bound area of the city as it has a big population, the team recommended.
