Gurugram, January 9
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today ordered the suspension of an Executive Engineer (XEN) of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL) for not paying attention to problems of a horticulturist.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the monthly meeting of Gurugram District Public Relations and Grievances Committee in Gurugram. A total of 11 complaints were taken up, most of which were disposed of on the spot. The Chief Minister ordered suspension of the XEN for not paying attention to the problem of a farmer of Babra Bakhipur village in Farukhnagar tehsil of the district.
The complainant said the HVPNL dug huge pits in his orchard for laying 220-KV lines and uprooted his orchard. He stated he was not given prior notice for this.
He said he was willing to get his house in the orchard demolished, but power officials did not listen to him. When the Chief Minister enquired about it from the XEN, he failed to give a satisfactory reply. A Superintending Engineer of the HVPNL said the farmer was given Rs 3.89 lakh as compensation. The complainant said this amount would compensate him for only one-fourth of his loss. TNS
