Haryana CM to distribute Rs 114L grant among 22 start-ups on Aug 21

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will be the chief guest at the state-level programme on World Entrepreneurship Day to be held on August 21 at the Indira Gandhi Auditorium of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU).

Vice-Chancellor BR Kamboj said that 22 start-ups selected by the Agri Business Incubation Centre (ABIC) will be given grant cheques worth Rs 114.3 lakh by the Chief Minister at the event. He informed that an exhibition of 30 stalls would also be set up by ABIC, showcasing modern technologies and household appliances to inspire the youth and farmers to venture into start-ups.

ABIC’s nodal officer and Dean of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Dr Rajesh Gera, informed that the stalls would feature biodegradable cups and spoons made from wheat, maize and jaggery; millet-based biscuits; high-quality honey; Ganoderma mushroom capsules; and chemical-free soaps and shampoos. “Start-ups will also showcase multipurpose machines capable of extracting juice and pulp from various fruits and vegetables, and innovations that allow farmers to remotely operate tubewells and household lights through mobile phones,” he informed. Other features at the event include start-ups working on microgreens delivery for health benefits against diseases like cancer and diabetes, advanced winnowing machines to clean crop residues and a modern cultivator designed to ease agricultural work.

Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav and Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan inspected the venue and reviewed preparations for the visit of the Chief Minister on August 21. They directed officials of departments concerned to complete all arrangements in time. The Deputy Commissioner informed that along with the ABIC stalls, a larger exhibition would also be organised where 57 stalls would be set up by HAU, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Higher Education Department, Technical Education Department, School Education Department and the Skill Development Department. Chief Minister Saini will interact with youth and budding entrepreneurs during the event.
