CM to open 4-day Ratnawali festival

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva on Friday said Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini would inaugurate the upcoming state-level Ratnawali Mahotsav on October 28.

A meeting of the organising committee Ratnawali 2025 was organised on Friday.

Sachdeva added that Ratnawali would emerge as a vibrant platform for the preservation and promotion of Haryanvi folk traditions, showcasing the intricate beauty of Sanjhi folk art along with other cultural treasures and culinary attraction. These would include saang, loor, phulkari, embroidery, weaving, pottery and Haryanvi delicacies such as churma, kasar, khichdi, lassi, kheer, poode, gulgule, and sawali.

Prof Maha Singh Poonia, director, public relations, Kurukshetra University said during Ratnawali, a KU newsletter would be released in Haryanvi to promote the Haryanvi language.

Prof Vivek Chawla, director, youth and cultural affairs, said the event would also witness the presence of Governor and KU Chancellor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Padma Shri awardees and several eminent film and cultural personalities.

This four-day festival will feature around 3,500 participants from various universities and colleges, competing in 34 categories across six stages, including music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary events.
