Cold weather conditions prevailed in Punjab and Haryana on Tuesday with Moga being the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 3.8 degrees Celsius.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar recorded a low of 7.9 degrees Celsius, according to a meteorological department report.

The mercury settled at 4.6 degrees Celsius in Pathankot district, 5 degrees Celsius in Bathinda and Faridkot, 5.5 degrees Celsius in Gurdaspur and 5.8 degrees Celsius in Patiala.

In neighbouring Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius.

Karnal recorded a low of 5.2 degrees Celsius, Sirsa 5.4 degrees Celsius, Narnaul 5.8 degrees Celsius, Hisar 7.1 degrees Celsius, Bhiwani 8.6 degrees Celsius and Rohtak 9.2 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a low of 7 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal.
