College principals urged to set up drivers' skill centre

Haryana Principal Secretary, Transport Department, Navdeep Virk, today urged all principals of colleges and institutions to establish Road Safety Knowledge Centre and Drivers’ Skill Centre on the premises of every college and university in the state.

He said the Haryana Government was using 50 per cent of the challan amount received from erring traffic violators in Haryana. Virk was inaugurating a webinar series on “Role of youth to make accident-free Haryana” with the collaboration of the Education Department today. Virk said in order to create awareness on traffic rules, the state police was regularly organising a series of annual quiz competitions on road safety for the students of all age groups. This initiative got listed in the Limca Book of Records as a world record.
