The Haryana Government College Teachers Association (HGCTA) unequivocally condemned the violence unleashed on students and teachers of the JNU by armed goons. They said the violence, that continued unabated for several hours on Sunday, was a brazen attempt by the administration to terrorise students and teachers who had bravely put up an unwavering fight to defend the university. The HFUCTO also condemned the police for refusing to intervene or provide security and protection to the JNU community in the face of the attack. The HGCTA members demanded that an immediate stop be put to the violence and students and teachers be protected. The association said it stood in solidarity with the teachers and students of the JNU. In this regard, the government college teachers of the state would wear black badges on Tuesday, said Dr Narender Siwach, president of the HGCTA.
