Complete Gurugram infra works before rains, Commerce Min tells officials
Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh has told the officials concerned to complete infrastructure works related to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority and Gurugram Metro Rail Limited under the Comprehensive Mobility Management Plan-2020 before the monsoon season to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and urban development. The plan aims to enhance traffic control and metro connectivity in Gurugram.
Presiding over a review meeting with senior officials of GMDA, GMRL, Haryana Urban Development Authority and the Gurugram Municipal Corporation, the minister said he aimed to make Gurugram a clean city with a smooth flow of traffic. Gurugram is one of the country’s most prestigious city, a corporate and industrial hub, he added, stating that the state government was laying emphasis on public transport systems, including the Rapid Metro, Inter Ring Road, RRTS and Metro Rail.
Therefore, completing these works in time was essential, he said. Proper arrangements for rainwater drainage must be ensured while constructing U-turns at grade separators for ROBs, RUBs and the metro, he instructed the officials concerned.
Waterlogging must be avoided at these locations during the rainy season, he added.
With six months remaining before the monsoons, officers should prioritise completing these tasks, he said.
