Computer lab assistants, teachers protest in Karnal
Karnal, January 11
Hundreds of computer lab assistants and computer teachers organised a protest in the city and staged a dharna near the CM’s Camp Office today. They handed over a memorandum to City Magistrate Aman Kumar in support of their demands, including a hike in salary, salary for summer and winter vacations, approval of medical allowance files, service security and others. They were assured of a meeting with the CM on January 25, after which they ended their protest.
Karamjit Sandhu, state president of the Computer Lab Assistant Welfare Association, and Balram Dhiman, state president of the Computer Teachers Welfare Association, led the protest that started from Karna Park. They reached near the CM’s Camp Office, where they were stopped by the police.
Employee leaders slammed the government and accused it of going back on its promises.
