Conductor asks girl to show bus pass, attacked by youths
Rohtak, September 2
The conductor of a Haryana Roadways bus, on its way from Jhajjar to Chandigarh, was allegedly attacked by a group of youths with sticks and rods on the Delhi bypass chowk in Rohtak after he asked a girl travelling in the bus to show her pass. The injured conductor, Rajbir, was taken to the local Civil Hospital.
The police have registered an FIR under Sections 121 (1), 132, 190, 191 (3), 221, 351 (2) and 351 (3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, at the PGIMS police station in Rohtak on the basis of the conductor’s complaint on Sunday.
“When I asked a girl sitting in the bus to show her ticket, she said that she had a student pass. I told her to show the pass, but she refused to do so and questioned my authority. I told her that I was authorised to check the pass, but she said she would show it to me later,” said the conductor.
Rajbir said when the bus stopped on the Delhi bypass in Rohtak, a group of eight to 10 youths attacked him with sticks and iron rods. “I was saved by the bus driver and passengers. Following that, the girl asked me whether I had seen the pass or wanted to see more of it.” The conductor alleged that the youths who attacked him also took away about Rs 10,000 in cash from his bag.
