Addressing party workers in Naraingarh of Ambala district, Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday appealed to the farmers and Punjabi community to vote in large numbers to form the BJP’s government for the third time.

Khattar said, “We want to make a record and form the BJP government for the third time under the leadership of Nayab Singh Saini.”

He said the Congress party was trying hard to have a pre-poll alliance but has failed so far.

Khattar added that the BJP had declared its probable CM candidate but the Congress was a divided house and engrossed in family politics.

Alleging that the Congress was a casteist party, he said it had disrespected Kumari Selja for being a Dalit.

He said caste-based discrimination was rampant during the Congress’ 10-year tenure.

Appealing to the Punjabi community, he said, “Punjabis have played important role in national security. You should compare work done by the Congress and BJP governments. We have provided jobs to youths across the state.”

“Much like a BJP government at the Centre, you should vote for saffron party in Haryana. States ruled by the Congress have decided not to implement schemes of the Centre, which directly impact the residents,” said former CM.

Naraingarh BJP candidate Pawan Saini called Khattar a ‘saint’ who worked for the people of Haryana. He said, “Khattar launched a number of schemes, including providing MSP on crops to farmers. Haryana is the only state in the country to get such a benefit. Before his government, people had to bribe to get transferred.”
