Congress appoints 4 observers to revive party at grassroots in Haryana

The observers — AICC Central Observer Bhuwan Kapri, along with Haryana PCC observers Kailasho Saini, Mangat Ram Lalwas, and Azad Malik — met party leaders and workers on Tuesday to gather feedback and emphasise unity. They distributed forms for candidates aspiring to become district presidents, with submissions routed through Assembly constituencies.

They emphasised unity and urged joint efforts to strengthen the party. Aspiring candidates for the post of Rural and Urban district presidents took forms from the observers and will be required to submit them again after the initial stage.

Acknowledging past organisational weaknesses, Kapri assured a stronger organizational structure in the coming days. “Our effort is to identify sincere grassroots workers for district leadership,” Kapri told the media, adding that they have consulted former MLAs, MPs, senior leaders, and party’s candidates who had contested elections in the district.

“A strong organisation wins elections. Without a solid structure, defeat is expected,” he said.

So far, 125 party members have been met, with visits continuing till June 13, followed by a second phase of meetings. Priority will be given to dedicated workers trusted by the majority and free from factionalism, Kapri added.

Saini highlighted the focus on uprooting anti-people forces like the BJP and said factionalism will no longer be tolerated. She expressed confidence that strengthening the party organisation will change Haryana’s political scenario.

The observers reiterated their goal to ensure ordinary workers’ voices reach the high command effectively. They will hold meetings with party workers and leaders in Nilokheri and Indri on June 12, in Assandh and Gharaunda on June 12 and in Karnal on June 13.
