Sirsa MP Kumari Selja visited Fatehabad on Wednesday and met party workers at the old rest house. During the meeting, senior leader and former CPS Prahlad Singh requested Selja to meet workers every month on a fixed day in Fatehabad.

Selja was scheduled to visit the protest site of municipal councillors outside the Municipal Council office, but the protest ended a day earlier after BJP district president Praveen Jaura and DMC Anurag Dhaliya assured councillors that their demands would be considered.

Addressing party members, Selja said Congress believes in democracy, while the BJP acts against it. “It is unfortunate that elected councillors in Fatehabad had to sit on a protest. That shows how democracy is being weakened,” she said.

She added that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had exposed the BJP’s “vote theft,” saying, “Only those who have no faith in democracy steal votes.”

Selja also said the government failed to deliver on people’s expectations. “Governance and administration have completely collapsed. Congress must continue to fight for public issues,” she said.

She further announced that the Congress district executive committee will soon be expanded to include active and hardworking members who will help spread Rahul Gandhi’s message to every household.
