Congress issues show-cause notice to Manisha Sangwan for ‘gross indiscipline’ at Dadri event
First disciplinary action under PCC chief Rao Narender Singh’s leadership
The Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) has issued a show-cause notice to senior party leader Dr Manisha Sangwan over alleged “gross indiscipline” during the visit of PCC president Rao Narender Singh and AICC secretary Jitender Baghel to Dadri on October 13.
According to the notice, the incident occurred during the party’s “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chod” programme, which was disrupted by the actions of Sangwan’s supporters.
The letter stated that the “entire programme and its impact was washed out” and that media reports subsequently highlighted “divisions and fissures within the party.”
Sangwan has been asked to submit her reply within 10 days, explaining the reasons behind the disruption caused by her supporters during the PCC president’s visit.
The development comes amid reports of intensifying factionalism within the Haryana Congress. It is also the first instance of disciplinary action taken since Rao Narender Singh assumed charge as PCC president and Bhupinder Singh Hooda as CLP leader.
