Cong pays tribute to Rajiv Gandhi on 81st birth anniv
On the occasion of the 81st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, a Bharat Ratna awardee, Congress leaders and workers gathered before his statue at Nirmal Kutia Chowk on Wednesday morning to pay floral tribute to him.
Party workers and leaders observed a two-minute silence in Gandhi’s memory.
Congress’s Karnal district (urban) president, Parag Gaba, said Gandhi led India towards modernisation. Leaders delved into his role in strengthening grassroots democracy through the Panchayati Raj system, encouraging youth to engage in politics and public service, and laying the foundation of the IT and
telecommunication revolution.
