Congress women’s city president Krishna Phogat led a candle march in Sirsa on Tuesday evening to demand justice for Manisha, a young woman who was allegedly brutally murdered in Bhiwani. During the march, protesters criticised the BJP government, blaming it for failing to ensure

women’s safety.

Before the march, a gathering was held at the district Congress office, where many men and women joined under Krishna Phogat’s leadership. They demanded the immediate arrest of Manisha’s killers and justice for her family.

Participants raised concerns about how the case was being handled and questioned the working style of the

BJP-led government.

With candles in their hands, the protesters urged the authorities to take swift action. Krishna Phogat stated that the increasing number of crimes against young girls and elderly women shows that the BJP government had failed to protect the public, especially women and girls.

She also claimed that Manisha’s murder was being wrongly portrayed as suicide and that pressure was being put on her father to suppress the case. She said such actions would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Phogat added that the Congress party would continue to stand with Manisha’s family and keep fighting until they

got justice.

Many Congress workers joined the candle march, including Pushpa Narang, Angoori Devi Verma, Krishna Bhambhu, Dr. Jyotika Mehta, Gayatri Devi, Pooja Rani, Sangeeta Rani, Sharda Devi, Pinky Grover, Sunita Hooria, Sandeep Nehra, Karn Chawla, Anil Gupta, Mohit Sharma, Vicky Saini, Sangeet Kumar, Jagdish, Sahil Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Kush, and others.
