Claiming that the Congress’ balloon would burst in the Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Congress leaders have started saying that they would meet with a Madhya Pradesh-like fate. Notably, the BJP has returned to power in Madhya Pradesh for the third time in a row.
Bapu, beta dono davedar hai
Bapu bhi davedar hai aur beta bhi davedar. (Both father and son are claimants for the post). Both are trying to get rid of other claimants. Seeing all this, people have made up their mind to dispose of the Congress. Narendra Modi, PM
Addressing a rally in Hisar town today, the Prime Minister made a blistering attack on the Congress, terming it as the most ‘dhokebaj’ (deceitful) and ‘beimaan’ (dishonest) party of the country.
He also raised the issue of Dalits by invoking incidents that occurred in Gohana and Mirchpur villages during the previous Congress regime and also tried to woo farmers, youth and defence forces by claiming a host of welfare measures by the BJP for them. Attacking the Congress, Modi said, “In the MP and Rajasthan, Congress inflated a balloon of falsehood. But people punctured the balloon in the elections. Now, the same is going to happen in Haryana. This happens with the Congress because it is the most ‘dhokebaj’ and ‘beimaan’ party. You can see what they did to Himachal. During elections, the Congress made a number of promises. Now, people are reminding the government about promises.”
Targeting the Gandhi family, Modi said that Delhi’s ‘shahi parivar’ had trapped the people of Himachal. “Now, the government does not have the budget to give salary and DA to government employees,” he said adding that wherever there was a Congress-led government, there was no stability.
He also targeted the Congress’ previous regime that there was ‘kharchi-parchi’ (money and recommendation) in practice in Haryana during its government. But when the BJP government started giving jobs on merit, Congress’ ‘bharti roko’ gang got active and created hurdles in the recruitment process. “Youth should teach this ‘bharti roko’ gang a lesson so that they do not create hurdles in the fair recruitment process,” he said.
Taking a jibe at factionalism in Haryana Congress, Modi said that the party which could not ensure unity within its leaders, can it bring stability in the state? “You can see the tussle in the Congress on the issue of Chief Minister.” Without naming former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his MP son Deepender Hooda, he said, “Bapu bhi davedar hai aur beta bhi davedar. (Both father and son are claimants for the post). Both are trying to get rid of other claimants. Seeing all this, people have made up their mind to dispose of the Congress,” he said.
