The urban unit of Karnal Congress launched a ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’ (vote thief, give up the seat) campaign and started a signature campaign. They took out a march in the city making people aware about the issue of “vote theft” through different methods.
Led by Karnal urban district president Parag Gaba, Congress workers started a march from Raghunath mandir chowk. It was scheduled to end at Novelty road but enthusiastic workers extended it to Committee Chowk.
A large number of Congress workers, supporters and city residents participated in the march, raising the slogan ‘Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod’.
Along with the march, a signature campaign was also carried out, aimed at spreading the message that in a democracy, only those chosen with honesty and integrity by the people deserve to sit in power.
Speaking on the occasion, Gaba said, “Our party leader Rahul Gandhi has already presented concrete evidence on this issue on several occasions, but the Election Commission has failed to take decisive action. Congress will continue our struggle to save democracy, from the streets to Parliament.”
Congress SC Cell district president Rohit Joshi said those rejected by the people have captured power, which is a clear insult to democracy. “We will keep raising our demand through peaceful and democratic means and seek a fair investigation,” he said.
