Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today said that “the Congress speaks lies and deceives people”. Congress leaders were not telling anything about the tenure of their party’s government but demanding the performance record from the BJP, he added.
Saini addressed a gathering after BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankar filed his nomination papers in Badli town in the district. Dhankar is fighting the elections from the seat for the third time.
The Chief Minister accused the Congress of doing nothing for farmers’ welfare during its regime. He said, “Everyone knows how many atrocities were committed on farmers during the previous Congress regime. Tell farmers why the Swaminathan commission’s recommendations were not implemented when the Congress had governments both at the Centre and in the state. The Congress threw the commission report in the dustbin while the BJP took many decisions in the interest of farmers as soon as it came to power,” he claimed.
Saini alleged, “The Congress shows only false dreams to people while the BJP fulfils all promises it makes. I am fully confident that the BJP will form government in the state for the third time. I want to appeal to you to go to each and every house and make the lotus flower bloom again.”
