Congress’s Hisar MP Jai Parkash gets women panel's notice
Congress's Hisar MP Jai Parkash has come under criticism after making a controversial statement on women, prompting the Women Commission of Haryana to issue notice to him.
During a public meeting in the Kalayat Assembly segment, where his son Vikas Saharan is contesting the Assembly elections, Jai Parkash can be seen, a video of which went viral on social media, purportedly making a derogatory comment on women, saying “If leaders can be made with lipstick and powder, then I should apply it myself. Why should I even keep a beard?"
Haryana Women Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia condemned the use of such language, stating, “We have issued a notice to Jai Parkash, and asked to submit a reply on it.”
