State Cabinet minister Anil Vij today said that the establishment of a state-of-the-art 100-bed ESIC Hospital in Ambala Cantonment would serve as a lifeline for insured workers and their dependent families, ensuring advanced and accessible healthcare services close to their homes.

Vij said the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has been directed to issue the formal land allotment letter (offer letter) with the finalised cost by December 16, for the proposed site located in Sector-33 (Part-1), Ambala Cantonment. Once issued, the ESIC would complete the payment process and start construction at the earliest.

Thousands of workers were employed in the industrial zone adjoining the sector and Saha area. All insured workers and their dependents would receive direct health benefits from the hospital, he said.

The hospital would be equipped with major medical departments and emergency services, 24×7 Emergency and Trauma Care, ICU services, and advanced diagnostic and pathology labs. He said the goal was to make sure that the insured individuals received proper treatment without delay and financial burden.

“My priority has always been that people of Ambala Cantonment do not face hardships due to a lack of medical facilities. No worker should wander helplessly in search of treatment. This hospital will bring relief to the working class as well as the general public,” he said.

Vij said the matter had recently been taken up during a high-level meeting chaired by the Secretary, DPIIT, Government of India, at the Chief Secretary's office, where pending projects listed on the PMG (Project Monitoring Group) portal were reviewed.
