The Town and Country Planning Department carried out a demolition drive to remove illegal constructions along the Bhiwani–Jamalpur Road in Bawani Khera town of the district on Tuesday.
According to department officials, the team demolished the unauthorised structures from over nearly three acres in two illegal colonies, which were being set up in violation of the norms and without valid licence from the authorities concerned. Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Sahil Gupta, Duty Magistrate Naveen Kumar led the team of the police to carry out the demolition drive in a smooth manner.
The District Town Planner said during the operation, seven structures and a constructed road network within the illegal colonies were demolished using earthmoving machines.
The DTP officials cautioned the residents not to raise any unauthorised constructions or encroach on the government land in the district.
Officials said the department was continuously identifying such illegal developments and that the demolition drive against unauthorised colonies and structures would continue.
