Nikita Tomar murder case: Convict Tosif files appeal in Punjab and Haryana High Court
Chandigarh, June 28
Sentenced to life imprisonment in the Nikita Tomar murder case, Tosif today moved the Punjab and Haryana HC by filing an appeal.
He claimed the lower court judgment was based on conjectures and surmises. It was, as such, liable to be set aside.
In his appeal placed before the Bench of Justice Ritu Bahri and Justice Alka Sarin, Tosif submitted the judgment was also against law and facts available on record.
His counsel Sarfraj Hussain added the complaint alleging the victim’s harassment by the appellant was not lodged till the date of alleged occurrence. There were no call details to prove the appellant had ever called the victim after August 4, 2018. There is no evidence to connect the alleged country made pistol found on the spot with the appellant. — TNS
