The car, carrying five people and a pet dog, lost control and plunged into a water-filled pit. While four passengers, including a young girl, were pulled out alive, the driver, Aman Kumar, and the family’s pet dog Buffy lost their lives.

Early in the morning, the car veered off the road near Jakhal and fell into a deep roadside pit filled with rainwater. Those inside included Aman Kumar (who was driving), Naresh Kumar, Neetu Rani, Damini, a young girl named Navya and their pet dog.

Coincidentally, the Fatehabad police’s dog squad team was passing nearby on a separate search operation. As they approached the area, they heard the screams of a woman calling for help. Dog squad in-charge sub-inspector Omveer Singh and constable Hardeep Singh rushed to the scene. The police team managed to break open the car windows and pull out four persons. Aman Kumar was trapped behind the steering wheel and could not be rescued. Pet dog Buffy also drowned.
