According to sources in the police, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Haryana Police is carrying out a parallel investigation to ascertain whether the murder was committed by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang as claimed by Rohit Godara, a member of the gang in a social media post.
“Though the matter is being investigated by the district police, the inputs of the case are being shared with the STF,” the sources said.
At the level of the district police, DSP (Meham) and SHO (Lakhan Majra) are leading the investigation team, which comprises CIA staff officials also. Several teams have been constituted to nab the assailants.
However, the sources said no clinching clue which could reveal the identity of the assailants or the registration number of their car had been found in the CCTV footage scanned by the investigators so far.
