Country will be debt-ridden by 2047, claims Ambala MP
Participating in a discussion on President’s address in the Budget Session, Ambala Congress MP Varun Chaudhary said by 2047 India would be a debt-ridden country and not a ‘developed country’, as being promised by the government.
Chaudhary took a dig at the nomenclature being used to describe growth, saying in 2014, the slogan was ‘Shresth Bharat’; in 2019, ‘Naya Bharat’; and in 2024, ‘Viksit Bharat’.
"There is no road map for ‘Viksit Bharat’. What are the benchmarks? The government claims there is ‘amrit kaal’, and then, claims that India was a ‘vishwa guru’," he said.
Taking a dig at the government, he asked, “Which countries are your ‘chelas’? Who is registering these 'chelas' and what are the parameters to be one?”
