Couple dies in road accident in Yamunanagar district

A man and his wife were killed when their motorcycle was hit by a car near Ismilepur village of the Sadhaura block of Yamunanagar district.

The deceased have been identified as Jagdish Kumar and Kanta Devi of Shyampur village of the district.

Sahil of Shyampur village told the police that he, his brother Saurabh, their father Jagdish Kumar and their mother Kanta Devi had gone to his (Sahil’s) friend house in Ismilepur on Monday night. He said he and his brother had gone on one motorcycle, while their parents were on another motorcycle. He said, when their parents had left from Ismilepur village to their home at about 8.30 pm, their motorcycle was hit by a car.

He added that his parents sustained serious injuries in the accident, and they were taken to Community Health Centre, Sadhaura. They were then referred to the Jagadhri Civil Hospital. He said his parents died at the hospital.

Based on Sahil’s complaint, a case was registered against the unidentified car driver under sections 106, 281, and 324 (4) of the BNS at the Sadhaura police station on Tuesday.
