In a shocking incident, a nazir of the court in Bahadurgarh subdivisional town of Jhajjar district, Narender Kumar, 40, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in Nai Basti locality in Bahadurgarh town this afternoon.

The nazir (court official who serves processes and acts as treasurer) was found hanging when his wife Poonam, who is a schoolteacher, returned home. The Bahadurgarh police rushed to the spot and recovered a suicide note from near the body.

Narender, in his suicide note, blamed nine persons, including four judicial officers, for financially exploiting him, which he mentioned as the reason behind his taking the extreme step. The police found a carbon copy of the note while the original handwritten one was not found near the body, said sources.

The victim gave details of financial transactions which he did for shopping on the part of the officers and mentioned that he had to spend from his pocket for the shopping for these officers, who never returned the money to him.

“Main ja raha hun. Main thak chukka hun….kuch bhrasht…ki vajah se mera jeevan nasht ho gaya hai. Mere maut ke zimmedar hai…” the suicide note started. It went on to give details of his financial exploitation and urged a judicial official to bring justice to him and his family.

Jhajjar SP Ashok Kumar said the police had taken the body for postmortem examination. “We will take action as per the complaint of the family members of the victim. So far, they have not given any complaint,” he said, admitting they had recovered the suicide note.
