Courtesy MP, Karnal gets two ambulances
Karnal, February 13
In a major relief to patients, the Health Department on Monday received two new ambulances that have been provided by Karnal MP Sanjay Bhatia.
These ambulances have replaced the older ones that had either exceeded the recommended operational lifespan of five years or travelled approximately 3 lakh km.
Each ambulance costs Rs 11 lakh and comes fully equipped with all necessary facilities. The department faces a challenge due to the poor condition of its ambulance fleet, with 20 out of 33 vehicles surpassing the recommended operational period. As a result, it raises serious safety concerns.
The MP, while handing over the ambulances, said the availability of these ambulances would benefit the patients greatly.
Fleet incharge Gopal Sharma confirmed that both the ambulances have been integrated into the fleet. “These ambulances will enable us to serve the needs of general public in a better way,” he added.
