The Communist Party of India (CPM)’s district committee has recommended the name of Jagmati Sangwan, a Bheem Awardee, international volleyball player and leading woman activist, as its nominee from the Rohtak Assembly constituency.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the district committee of the CPM held here on Sunday to discuss the prevailing political scenario and to chalk out strategies regarding the poll.

“Today, we discussed the prevailing political situation in view of the Assembly election. After the meeting, we sent a resolution to the state committee recommending Jagmati Sangwan as a party nominee from the Rohtak Assembly constituency. The CPM state committee will meet on August 23 to finalise the seats and candidates as recommended by various district committees,” said Surendra Singh, state secretary of the party.
