Crackdown against illegal mining in Yamunanagar district
On the directions of IGP (Ambala Division) Pankaj Nain, SP Surinder Singh Bhoria has asked SHOs of all police stations and incharges of all police posts of the district to take strict action against those found indulging in illegal mining.
“Policemen will check vehicles carrying mining mineral. Strict action shall be taken against vehicles found transporting mining mineral without e-transit passes or those overloaded,” said the SP.
The SHOs have been asked to take action against owners of stone crushers and screening plants who sold mining mineral without e-transit passes/bills.
The traffic police have also been instructed to check licences and other documents of drivers in the mining zone.
As per information, the district administration has set up 11 check posts to stop illegal mining, illegal transportation of mining mineral and overloading.
According to information, the police have challaned 449 vehicles, tractor-trailers, tippers and earth-moving machines since January 2025.
