Two illegal colonies being developed over three acres of land in Rohtak and Bahu Jamalpur villages were targeted on Tuesday. One illegal structure and both pucca (permanent) and kutcha (temporary) road networks were demolished.

Officials and staff from the District Town Planning (DTP) office were present during the operation. To maintain law and order and handle any untoward incident, adequate police force was also deployed with the demolition team.

Deputy Commissioner Dharmender Singh said illegal constructions and unauthorised colonies would not be allowed to flourish in the district.

“The administration will continue its crackdown on such developments in the coming days,” said DC. He appealed to the public not to invest their hard-earned money in illegal constructions or unauthorised colonies.

District Town Planner (DTP) Sumandeep also urged citizens not to invest their life savings in illegal constructions or colonies being developed by unauthorised dealers or landowners as the administration would continue taking departmental action against such violations.

The DTP advised residents to verify all land-related details before investing, and said they were welcome to visit the DTP Office located in Sector-1, Rohtak, on any working day for inquiries.
