Crop Diversification: Now, register till July 15 in Haryana
Chandigarh, June 26
The state will provide incentives on sowing water-saving crops instead of paddy under the crop diversification scheme this year. CM Manohar Lal Khattar gave the approval to implement the ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat Yojana’ for the kharif 2021 season under crop diversification.
To take advantage of the scheme, interested farmers will have to register on ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. Earlier the last date for registration was June 25, which has now been extended to July 15.
Presiding over a meeting of the Agriculture Department officers, state Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister JP Dalal said instead of paddy, farmers should be motivated to sow alternative crops. “Farmers have been an option to grow cotton, maize, pulses, vegetables and fruits instead of paddy to get an incentive of Rs 7,000 per acre.” — TNS
