Heavy rains in Fatehabad district have disrupted daily life. It started raining on Sunday, and even on Monday, the sky remained cloudy. Although the sun shown for a short while, the chances of more rain are still high.
Due to the continuous rain, the water level in the Ghaggar river at the Chandpura Syphon has increased. The syphon can hold 22,000 cusecs of water, and at present about 12,500 cusecs was flowing through it. The administration is on high alert.

Municipal Committee and public health officials are working round the clock to remove the water. DMC Sanjay Bishnoi said the rainwater was under control, but water from fields was now the main challenge.
Temporary drainage work has started near Swarg Ashram to solve waterlogging in Wards 7, 8, and 11. Former parliamentary secretary Dura Ram visited the site and ordered quick action.
According to the locals in 2022, a more than Rs 200 crore drainage project was approved for Bhuna, but it has been delayed due to pending approvals and land issues.
