Residents of Sasauli village and Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) today blocked the main Sasauli-ITI (Yamunanagar) road to press their demands for the repair of the main road, streets and drains in the village.

They lifted the blockade after the SDO of Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri, reached the spot and assured them that the repair work would be started in two days.

The work of laying sewer lines had been completed in the village nearly two months ago but the damaged main road, streets and drains were not repaired yet, he said.

“Despite the problem having been brought to the notice of MC officials several times, no change has taken place on the ground. Therefore, the vexed villagers and BKU members blocked the Sasauli-ITI (Yamunanagar) road in the village today,” said Gundiana.

He said after receiving information about the road blockage, the administration had sent Jagadhri Tehsildar Amit Kumar at the spot, adding that the SDO of the Municipal

Corporation also arrived at the spot.

“The SDO has assured us that the repair work of the main road and streets will be started within two days and the repair work of damaged drains will start on Saturday,” said Gundiana.
