Dance, song, ‘yagya’ mark BPSMV meet

The annual alumni meet of Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV), Khanpur Kalan, was organised on Saturday. Vice-Chancellor Sudesh said alumni were an invaluable asset to any institution and the alumni association was doing the important work of bringing them together.

She paid tribute to Bhagat Phool Singh, Behan Subhashini Devi and Saint Ravidas and urged the alumni to take the heritage of Bhagat Phool Singh forward.

This meet was organised by the alumni association and education department. The students presented cultural performances, including Haryanvi dance, a play, giddha, etc.

A ‘yagya’ ceremony was also organised in the university’s ‘yagyashala’ to mark Bhagat Phool Singh’s 139th birth anniversary.

The institution’s Vice-chancellor Sudesh presented the Reena Abhishek Award, sponsored by alumnus Dr Reena, to BAMS (I) topper Ekta and BAMS (II) topper Tanvi. Former principal of MSM Institute of Ayurveda Dr Vijay Kaushik announced he would honour the topper of BAMS final year next year onwards.

On this occasion, former students Hukum Kaur, Sandhya, Dr Anjali, Poonam and others shared their student-life experiences. A few spots designated as ‘selfie points’ were the centre of attraction amongst guests.
